A fresh-faced Lancaster team welcomed an experienced side on Saturday.

Lancaster started the match confidently taking the game to Clitheroe with some beautiful link up play between Emily Bamber-Dowthwaite, Georgina Hines and Naomi Osborne.

Players of the match Ella Gill and Molly Chapman were fantastic in the defence, tackling hard and clearing away all danger. Georgia Simm defended solidly sprinting after players and channelling the Clitheroe attacking line much to their frustration. The scores were level at half time.

Into the second half, Lancaster had their first opportunities, Virtue Vincent and Hope Morgan driving the ball forward for Holly Hudson to run onto.

However, the Clitheroe team continued to pressure Lancaster are scored a couple of quick goals. Lancaster tried to earn a goal back but succumbed to another goal taking the game away from them.

As spirited performance and many positives to take to their next match in a couple of weeks’ time.
