Clitheroe Blackburn Northern 2s             1-1        Lancaster 2s      

This weekend Lancaster 2s travelled to Blackburn. The game started evenly matched with both teams trying to catch each other on the counter attack. In her new role as CHB Amelia Welch was solid in defence and drove the ball out linking well with the midfield of Susie Crayton, Sophie Christopherson and Liola Walmsley. With some great one two passing they were able to earn Lancaster a number of chances and short corners. Jess Dawson and Emily Verden were both unlucky to not convert chances. The teams went into half time stalemate.

Lancaster started the second half brighter. 10 minutes into the second half Lancaster earned a penalty flick after the Clitheroe defender stopped the ball on the line with her foot. Izzy Finely calmly stepped up to take it, flicking the ball into the top of the net. Clitheroe were quick to claw back a goal. A flurry of short corners, saw the ball eventually get flicked in at the back post, despite the determination of the defence. Clitheroe pushed for a winner, the defence of Lottie Horner, Frances Archer, Molly Chapman and Abi Watson stood firm, whilst Goal Keeper Rebecca Halliwell made a number of important saves to keep them out. The whole team rallied together to get behind the ball to keep Clitheroe at bay. The game ended 1-1 earning Lancaster a well-deserved point.
